Charlie PUTS RUMORS TO REST ABOUT AMA KISS

The AMAs were filled with major performances and tearful acceptance speeches last night, but the biggest scream-at-the-TV moment came when Charlie Puth and Meghan Trainor made out on stage! Their kiss went on for, like, EVER. And ever. And ever.
Last night, we kept our fingers crossed that the kiss was their epic relationship announcement. But in the clear light of morning, we're realizing that's (sadly) not the case (yet, anyway!).
For starters, Charlie sweetly shut down the rumor mill just minutes after the AMAs wrapped.
He said
"before it begins...we are just friends. so happy to preform with meghan tonight!! thank you for all the love everybody!"
It also turns out that last night wasn't the first time Charlie and Meghan locked lips. They made out while filming the music video for "Marvin Gaye" (the song that led into their steamy kiss last night). While you might dream of kissing Charlie, apparently the whole experience was pretty awkward!
"There were, like, 40 people there and his parents were in the greenroom — and so we had to make out a bunch of times," Meghan told MTV News. "Everyone was cheering because I was so good at it, and we went back to the greenroom and I was like, 'What's up Mom and Dad'. So awkward."
You can even hear Meghan giggling while watching an outtake of their "Marvin Gaye" kiss on Instagram – a full three months before their AMAs makeout:
